Adrian Graduates from Kindergarten

My oldest baby graduated from kindergarten today. He was so cute. I just had to share a photo of him. Sometimes we worried that he wouldn't make it....at times he just seemed so immature and we were afraid it was too much for him. He's a summer baby and next to the youngest in his class (the other little boy has older siblings). So at times it was just really hard for him to deal with some things the older kids had no problems with.

But I have to say Adrian is terribly smart. He loves math and science. He's always full of questions....so many at times I think I could go crazy. He doesn't care to much for the reading and writing part of school although as kindergarten ends I can say that he has learned to read. His school really pushes reading and that seemed to cause a bit of drama in our house on a nightly basis as we had to practice each and every night.

Take a closer look at Adrian's 'gown'.......it is actually one of Scott's, my husband's, dress shirts on backwards with the sleeves rolled up. I never thought it would look right when they asked us to send it to school but surprise and WOW...it looks like a traditional graduation gown!

Congratulations Adrian! Mommy, Daddy, Lucas, Baby Anna, and Sugar too love you!!!!

Finished Blackbird Designs Loose Feathers Quaker Garden

I cannot believe how long it took me to finish the last little bit of this design. It seems I was only about 2 hours worth of stitching away from finishing this all week but of course, life got in the way.

Quaker Garden is stitched on 30ct. Garden State Java with the recommended threads. I hope my photo catches it's simple beauty.

I have been wanting to get back to stitching one of my Chatelaine's, so I will probably pick up my Taj Mahal again. I can't believe it has been over a year since I last stitched on it. How naughty I am!!!

But now that Quaker Garden is out of my stitching basket........what to add to my rotation now?

A Pretend Birthday Cake for a Pretend Birthday

My 5 year old attends kindergarten and well, his birthday is in July. So for these summer babies, the teacher lets them choose a date to celebrate their birthday near the end of the school year. Adrian's 'pretend' birthday is tomorrow and I made him a pretend birthday cake......he's getting 'real' cupcakes though!!!

What is in my Stitching Basket?

I thought I would take a minute and list what I am currently stitching on. Then over the next days, post updates as to my stitching and include some pictures to share.

First and foremost I am stitching on Blackbird Designs Loose Feathers Quaker Garden.....I am almost finished and so my next post will be a 'Finis'!

Second I am stitching on the beautiful freebie 'Quaker a 6 Mains'. I am current with this design........actually on part 4 in the 4th month!

Third, fourth, and fifth are actually Chatelaine Designs....Watergarden (started Nov. of 2003!), Snowflake Nativity (started Christmas 2003), and Taj Mahal (started Oct. of 2004). You might think these should be UFOs but they are so far gone that I could never let them languish forever!

Next are two projects I plan to start in the near future. These are the Quaker sampler, Hannah Beeby, and the Persian Iris Garden by Chatelaine Designs.

Until my next post......

New Progress Picture of Mystery 8

After stitching my 'sampler house exchange' project for the legacy guild, I picked up my Chatelaine Designs' Mystery VIII. It has been many, many months since I stitched on this...I haven't stitched on it since February of this year! I'm really enjoying it and doing what I can to kind of 'catch up' to the rest of the group now.
I've also added a little different picture in my PictureTrail album.

Dieting with Jenny Craig Update End of Week 4

Well at the end of week 4 of dieting with Jenny Craig I am a total of 10.5 lbs. lighter!

I'm having quite a few issues with the food........I really don't like it that much and so I keep finding myself wanting to be 'naughty'. I am learning to make better choices and perhaps that will be my key with Jenny....not the food but the support and the learning curve about foods and how to eat.

August 1...176.3lbs
August 8...175.0

I lost 1.3lbs this last week for a total of 10.5lbs. My goal is to lose 50lbs (with 135lbs being my target weight).

Not too much this week.....I was 'very, very bad', ummm, 4 times dining out....but still I am working in the right direction.

Not to mention I did buy some shorts that were a size 14 instead of size 16. Those are starting to fall off of me. Yahoo!

Diet Update End of Week 3

I had my weigh-in today and I was pleasantly suprised as I was rather naughty this past week and ate out 3 times. I did make some better food choices though which my Jenny Craig consultant, Lucy, said was 'Wonderful!'...In the past I would have just eaten anything I wanted off the menu but all three times I made better choices (well, the last time I had felt sick all day and was wanting some comfort food so I didn't make the best of choices then!)Here's the stats...

July 25...178.1lbs
August 1...176.3lbs

I lost 1.8lbs this last week for a total of 9.2lbs. My goal is to lose 50lbs (with 135lbs being my target weight).

A Gift Stitched for My Sister

Today I spent at the sewing machine trying to finish a little project for my sister. She's still a little sad over her rooster so to cheer her up I thought I would let her know I love her with a gift. The cross stitched center is from Elizabeth Designs and I finished it as a small pillowcase with ribbon ties over a simple muslin pillow.
Now to pop it in the mail....she doesn't check my blog often (Naughty sister!) and so I think I am safe sharing it with all of you.
